carpe dm Mine do not sqweek, but I have had cars with brakes that did. Try taking out the pads and hitting them with some very rough sand paper. Rough up the rotors a little too. Put some anti-sqweal grease (or high temp synthetic) on the backs and replace them. Then, do several sixty mph to 10 mph, easy stops and you should be OK. The easy way to scrub off pad material on the rotors and the pads themselves: find a patch of open (no other cars) highway and do several HARD sixty to 0 mph stops. Really step on the brakes! Sometimes this works well and I used to do it with an old Corvette. Good luck.

Squeaky Brakes

My '04 CTS-V's brakes squeal to beat the band at nearly every stop. The dealers says they still show about 50% life and that there is NOTHING I can do to stop the squealing. Anyone else experiencing this? Can't believe such a great ride can be so noisy while stopping! GG
