CTS-V near perfect, but need Shocks & Shifter

CTS-V is so perfect from the factory that I'm actually not planning many mods.
My goal is a nice daily driver.
I only have 2 remaining things I want to change on the car (skip shift eliminator already ordered, BTW).

Shocks -IMHO the stock shocks don't have enough rebound resistance and the car oscilates too much when encountering uneven pavement.
Compression seems fine though, as I'm not looking for anything stiffer, in that regard.

Are shocks from later model CTS-V better than 04?

What is a good aftermarket shock to use?

Shift Throws - Tranny feels solid as a rock and clutch is perfect.
Nevertheless, shorter throws would be nice, due to binding of the shifter boot from the large range of motion of the shifter.

What short throw shifters are popular with people here?

Has anyone tried the shifter from http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/ ?

I got the one StealthV Engineering sells.

I apreciate that they took the time and effort to use weatherproof factory connectors for a clean & simple install.

I don't have it yet, as I just ordered it last night.
I anxiously await it's arrival.

Why did order that one instead of the one from Lingenfelter? Have you heard something about the quality?

This one is 18.95 as opposed to Stealths 49.00

I did not know about the Lingenfelter product.
Is it a "seal kit" or the actual eliminator?
Do they mention how it gets installed?
There is certianly a big difference in price.

According to the website it's a "Seal Kit".

Mods, have you guys heard anything about the differences?

I have the UUC shifter, purchased from uucmotorworks. I also purchased some neoprene from James at Lindsay Cadillac (email: [email protected]). He used to sell the UUC shifters also. Drop him an email and ask if he still has some. When I purchased the shifter, uucmotorworks charged me $399 and the bushings from James were about $30.

I like the UUC shifter, but the spring loading is not as good as my Hurst in the Corvette. Shifts are crisp and precise. The day I picked it up after the shifter was installed I came home on the highway and when shifting to 5th I got it in the reverse gate by mistake. Some people with the B&M Shifter complain about the noise, no noise with the UUC.

Thanks 50,

I am glad to hear that the UUC shifter and bushings are the hook up.
I just bought both from a member (of that other forum) who had them listed in the classifieds.
I can't wait to get the stuff and install it.
I'll post back how it all works out.
