Talking new guy, thinkin about a cts-v have some questions

hello all,
Ive been thinking about getting a cts-v for a while. I have a few questions hopfully you guys can help.
1. any problems with certain years that i should know about?
2. I'm used to doing most of my own wrenching. How easy are these cars to work on? I know my way around the garage but ive mostly worked on fords ( puts on flame suit)
3. how responsive are these cars to mods?
4. I'm more into twisties and straight lines, is the cts-v a decent platform for light road racing? or am i barking up the wrong automotive tree

thanks in advance

I'm new, just picked my V yesterday. You might want to check out a thread I started over on in the C63 AMG forum,... I was choosing between the two and went there asking for C63 vs CTS-V impressions. Some of those guys answered a few of your questions,... especially about modding.

If you haven't purchased yet, you won't regret the jump. I had had my V almost a solid day before buying it. This thing outperforms anything in it's class in almost every category. Straight line, it pounds the C63, on the track,
