Stock 2004 CTS-V Chassis Dyno Results

We would like to thank CTSVLS6 for the opportunity to let DTE utilize his nearly new vehicle for development purposes of our own performance packages specifically engineered for the Cadillac CTS-V platform. We couldn't have asked for a nicer guy to be working with and it's going to be a real treat bringing a smile to his face when we're complete.

We have spent a considerable amount of time with this vehicle on our Dynojet in-ground chassis dyno to derive some accurate baseline figures to use as a control base for future power development. Below are some figures we've documented from those tests and all subsequent dyno pulls were made on the same day, by myself personally, with the engine temps within 3* either way of the run preceding it, within the overall time frame of about four hours. (morning to noon) All control conditions varied by about 1% +/- throughout the testing session. Three pulls were made for each respective change for accuracy and the highest of the three was recorded.

Dyno Cell and Vehicle Control Conditions:
Ambient temp- 63.7*
Absolute Barometric Pressure- 29.77 in./Hg
Vapor pressure- .082 in./Hg.
Rear Tire Rollout Ratio- 49.13 RPM/MPH
SAE Correction Factor- .97
Rear Tire Pressure- 32 psi
Engine/drivetrain temp.- 183*
Vehicle Mileage- 7300.0
All tests using stock air intake tube

100% Stock:
340.6 RWHP/338.6 RWTQ

Changed stock airbox to a conical K&N air filter on end of the MAF:
343.9 RWHP/340.7 RWTQ

Removed conical air filter completely and open MAF end:
342.8 RWHP/336.8 RWTQ

Removed serp. belt completely, open MAF end:
361.3 RWHP/352.0 RWTQ

Added ported throttle body:
No gains over stock

Based on the information data we've collected, we're developing a cold air kit specifically designed for this application that will net additional power over the O.E. components more than is what is seen here.

There will be frequent posts here in the future with new performance data as we get it, along with a projected course of action in additional component development here at DTE. We thought that some of you may want to see this progress as we move along, hence the posting.

Wow.. the ported TB didnt add any HP at all. Very interesting.
