Welcome to Stealth V Engineering...

Welcome to the forums!

I'm a new CTS-V owner... so tell me, what should I start with? I'm thinking the skip shift elimator to start with... but what else? What about lowering springs?

Skip shift elimination can be done via PCM. If you are seriously considering changing engine internals you should purchase HPTuners as your first step.

HPTuners is one player. My recommendation is EFILive though I'm biased as a beta tester since July '04.

Look for more info here about some good EFILive - StealthV Engineering combos in the near future.

$499 for HPTuners for 2 vehicle types. You get 2 complete model years/types for the $499. That is for their standard IO interface. You do not need the $649 Enhanced IO interface unless you plan on installing an EGT or Wide Band O2 sensor. The EIO interface just allows you to log that data with your cars ODB2 data in one software package. I purchased this version and have yet to use it.

I don't know much about EFI Live. I have heard good things about it, I do know that the guys at HPTuners will take it as a trade in towards your HPTuners purchase.

If you got someone with a Corvette close by (and I know you do ekool) who would want to go in on it with you, you could get the 2 vehicle types on one cable and share. Only one car can be tuned at a time anyway. I can also help you with tuning using your narrowband O2's.

EFILive

If one already owns version 5 or version 6 of EFILive (the standard of the industry scantool), the upgrade to the version 7 tuning package is only $199 which includes four VIN tuning slots. You can read any 99+ PCM without affecting your four VIN slots. One only uses a VIN slot when you actually flash a PCM.

There's a lot of behind the scenes history and dirty laundry between EFILive and HPT. Let's just say I chose the company with the higher moral standards.

Well I'm new to the game either way, so I'm unfamiliar with the history. But, research is always in order before making a large purchase.
