Just saying Hello!!

Just registered for this board and wanted to say hello.

I just recently purchased a silver 2005 V. Looking forward to finding and sharing useful information on these bad boys.

Got a Black/Black today, took advantage of the nationwide employee discount. Love it...so does everyone else when I drive by with that low rumbling sound of 400 ponies! I am not really sure about the shifter, though. It doesn't seem real smooth between gears. Maybe because I am not used to it, after all, had to say farewell to the 02 Altima!

...also got the personalized MD tags in the works: CADVETT

I know what you mean. I live in the MD/VA/DC area and have yet to see one, besides mine...it actually feels good to have a one-of-a-kind!

Production numbers for the 2004 and 2005 model years totaled only about 8000. It's a small market (and I'm positive that is why we are seeing such a lag in after market products for the V). Hopefully the after market will pick up as the STS-V and XLR-V are introduced.

It is nice to have a more unique car... except I've seen a lot of non V CTS cars with the V grill. None with the emblems added though.

That's so GHETTO!!! I saw those emblems and grilles on eBAY. It's almost like putting an Escalade Grille on a lowrider Chevy S-10!

I couldn't agree more. I've also seen some people go the extra step and make their own addition tag for the V. At this point, I can't remember what the edition I saw was called but it had gold plated trim all over the place and a V grill. No duel exhaust though and I don't think it had a sunroof either.

I did see a nice CTS in the mall here though and I was suprised to see that inside it was a 6 speed shifter. The regular CTS has an actual center compartment in it too instead of the hole with the leather wrapped cover the V came with.
