Date Posted 01-31-2005
Summary: At the Super Bowl this Sunday, Cadillac will give the public its first glimpse of the XLR-V high-performance convertible.
Full story: Watch the Super Bowl for your first look at Cadillac's third V-Series hot rod, the XLR-V convertible. According to Cadillac's Web site, the XLR-V will be available in late 2005, and will have a 0-to-60 acceleration time of under than 5 seconds. This is the first official word from Cadillac on the XLR-V.
In a recent phone interview, a Cadillac official said the XLR-V in Super Bowl advertising is a prototype, and that no performance specifications beyond the 0-to-60 time are currently available. At the recent North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Cadillac introduced its second V-Series model, the forthcoming STS-V sedan.
What this means to you: Doubly good news for American car fans: more of Cadillac's exciting V-Series models are on the way, and the XLR is about to get the high horsepower its sexy styling deserves.
