Does anybody know if Cadillac is going to re release the STS-V in either 2009 or 2010? I have not heard anything about the STS-V just the re release of the CTS-V. I was going to get a late 2008 STS-V until I heard about the 2009CTS-V, I would love to have the STS-V but I will be able to get a newer car with almost 100 more horsepower.

No reason to believe they won't do a 2010 STS V. They are making so few anyway (1500/year and maybe less) and the tooling is already paid for and there is no marketing support for them it is a low or no cost option. It is interesting that in certain European markets Cadillac is only selling the STS V and the XLR V and not the base vehicles. In a way that makes sense since US drivers cannot really use the performance available with the V series. Now that GM is in the middle of a panicked restructuring brought on by $4-$5/gallon gas prices, the V series development drops to the back of the pack. Therefore although there will be a 2010 STS V the only improvements will be the same ones available on the base STS.

The STS in any event is at the back end of its cycle. In 2-3 years, both the STS and DTS will be replaced by a new mega Cadillac which will finally do battle with the BMW 7 series and Merc S series and Audi 8 and of course the Lexus 450 and 650H. The new Cadillac will have exceptional fit and finish, a high power V8 and maybe even a V12 and much more interior room, especially in the back seats.

I got the information from piercing together comments by Bob Lutz and other Cadillac senior managers. Having said that, it looks like my information is turning out to be stale since the latest comments I read regarding the new super Cadillac is that it is on hold. Frankly though, if they are interested in competing around the world as they should and must, then they need an iconic luxury model to compete with the S series and 7 series.

Hello,
Actually the STS/DTS program has been put on hold as of now. The current model will continue on till MY11 or so. Don't look for any significant power increases for the STSV before it exits stage left....
Thanks,

Hello Dr Design
Am I correct to assume you are in someway connected to the D3 Cadillac Performance store? If so is there any chance of buying through you the European tail light system for the STS/STS V? I see that you already offer the rear fog light assembly system which I iwll be buying from D3. Please let me know thanks
