: here`s my new export STS V
harrysxlr 02-18-2008, 12:50 AM Hi,
last wednesday I`ve bought my brand new STS V, it`s an 07 model because NO 08 model is now available here in Germany and the one I bought is the only brand new one what was available in Germany or I think whole Europe.

after brake in I let you know what top speed it is able to do, I expect to see something around 300 kph (180 mph) on the digital speedo.

rodinoma 03-23-2008, 05:54 AM I have photos of my STS V (covered by snow in CT). Next month its going on the boat to Europe. There are two differences between yours and mine - I have an '08 and I also bought the Cadillac accessory sport exhaust - you can tell because mine are slightly fatter. And of course mine is limited to 250 kmh whereas yours is not. I also own an 07 Escalade in Italy that is speed limited to 173 kmh (bizarre limit). However on YouTube I saw an 07 Escalade in Saudi Arabia that went past 220 kmh. Evidently there is a company that can 'chip' the speed limiter. I am going to try it on my Escalade and then if it works I will do it on my STS V also. I am not quite sure how to post the photos of my STS V. If anyone wants to see them please just send me an email markrodino@btinternet.com and Ill send them on.

Hi Radinoma,
I`ve just send you an Email!
What kind of accessory sport exhaust do you have? Is it the Corsa? As far as I`ve heard it`s not possible for STS V. I have the Corsa on my XLR - great sound!!!!

thanks or posting this picture!!!!!
Big Joe, let`s do a little math
STS V 4.4 ltr 476 hp
XLR 4.6 ltr 326 hp
GTO 6.0 ltr 404 hp
I get 1206 horsepower, you was pretty close:)
love them all, best sound comes from the goat.

BigJoeD 05-11-2008, 01:42 PM Harry, hows the V been treating you? :)
harrysxlr 05-12-2008, 05:56 AM Harry, hows the V been treating you? :)
Hi Big Joe, long time not seen you here!!!!
My V is the best car I`ve ever owned, I love this Cadillac:) :D
Here you get the latest numbers from top speed!
I`ve had it several times up to 290 kph (180 mph) when speed limiter shows up and shows on the display "speed is limited to 180 mph".
I`m sure without the "limi" it would see the 300 kph (186 mph) but I can live with the 180.
This car is just GREAT:D

rodinoma 05-26-2008, 11:33 PM Last week I picked up my STS V in Antwerp and drove it through Belgium, Luxembourg and in to Germany for a bit of high speed highway testing. It is a phenomenal drive and the supercharger makes it a real joy to drive. I got it up to its terminal velocity of 250 kph a few times. I then continued through Austria and down to its garaged home in Rome.

Hi Big Joe,
well at least we got two really lucky europeans here, Rodinoma and me:D
He is right, I love the SC sound too especially in the range 120 - 180 mph when transmission shifts down for two gears and gets up on high rpm`s.
BTW my limter comes on at 180 mph (290 kph)@ 6300 rpm`s in 5th gear)

Mark, congratulations to have you V here in europe!!!!!
Now after 5000 km (about 3000 miles) on the odo I know my car uses no oil. My only Northstar STS had a little oil consumption.
The fuel consumption is OK for the 476 horses, it only uses a little more then my STS but the gas tank could be a little bigger.
Please show some pictures of your V.

rodinoma 06-09-2008, 02:46 PM Sorry guys but I don't have any photos of the STS v right now. Ill be going back to Rome in the next few weeks and Ill take some photos then. Then I have to figure out how to post them.
Justice 06-17-2008, 09:18 AM The STS-Vs are awesome looking. Nice choices guys!

:) you are right justice, nice looking and fast.
When I see the videos of the 09 CTS V I think I trade in my 04 XLR for one of these Nurburgring-Nordschleife-Runners. The fastest 4 door car with a time of 7.59 what ever been tested there.
But I`ll keep my STS V - just love it!!!!:D

Justice 06-18-2008, 06:33 AM The CTS-V is a fantastic machine, but to achieve times like it does, you have to sacrifice ride quality. The STS-V will always be a better traveling machine, and it looks so much better than any other Cadillac (save the XLR).
As for trading in your XLR, that should be a even trade. My "Product Specialist", told me the car was going to MSRP at 60K, and probably cost me around 66K out the door. I am trading in a E350, so that should cut a good chunk out.
Unfortunately, the Product Specialist, told me that GM would not "allow" Cadillac, to put the 6.2 LFA V8 in the XLR. Something having to do with being better than a corvette. This is all from his mouth. Personally, I would love to see this engine in a XLR. The XLR is SUCH a better looking car than the Corvette, I think the XLR is more deserving, it just doesn't have the seniority.
It is the same reason why Porsche, will not make a Cayman Turbo/GT2. It would blow the doors off the flagship 911.

You are right Justice, the LSA 6.2 engine with around 550 hp would be the perfect engine for XLR/STS V but I think for the same reason as you said we wont see this engine in one of them.
My XLR is an 04 model and I expect to get around 35 K Euro when I would trade it in. It`s not bad and means here in Germany in four years about the half price from what I did pay new.
According to my dealer they will get the first 09 CTS V by the end of the year and I`ll take a very close look to it and sure I`ll test drive one.
