I'm a tall handsome man with a career as a mortgage loan officer. I purchased the CTS-V a few months ago. I have 2100 miles on it so far. It's black on black. I haven't done any modifications yet. The only accomplishment for the caddy so far is, the spanking of a 4.6L Mustang GT.:D

I dont think many people in my town know what a CTS-V is -- they just think its a regular CTS -- until they hear the exhaust, then they just wonder what they were hearing coming out of a Cadillac! :)

:) I bought my V in Feb. 04, black/black. I traded in an 02 ZO6 and have not missed the ZO6 at all. Love the car and all the curb appeal. Car has BMR anti-wheel-hop kit, Corsa exhaust, More cold air box, Stainless Works headers, and Dynotech Stage III tune. Right now car dynos at 375rwhp and 375.2 rwtq. Car is at DTE for futher testing, cam and heads. Only problem is the nosey rear end and the dreaded wheel hop.

ekool
02-03-2005, 04:09 PM
Where did you pick up the BMR Anti-wheelhop kit? I'm interested in that, how well it works, etc.

I'd like to put up a "Parts Review" section here, do you think you could do a writeup on that and possibly some other mods you have?

LS6CTSV

http://www.bmrfabrication.com/CTS-Vpage.htm I ordered it directly from BMR. They say it helps about 75% and I would have to agree. It is not the complete fix, but it does help. The kit isn't to hard to install. I put the car up on jack stands and changed it, but a hoist would have been nice. I have read were other guys have changed tires and they say that also helps. My car does not have the FG2 shocks, which I think would help, so I my have to buy a set and try them.
I went to DTE yesterday afternoon and drove my car. The Stainless Works headers and high flow cats along with DTE's dyno tune diffently brought the car to life. There is no drone at any speed and the sound with the Corsa is awsome. One big improvement in performance. :)

Awesome, I'm going to add BMR to our comprehensive parts supplier list.

Hey I am a 31 year old male, father of a 3 year old and another due in March.
I have had my V since November 18 at which time a flew to Berea, Oh. to Mallett Cars Limited and picked up the car. The car was purchased from Cresview Cadillac through my local dealer and then sent to Mallett for a few basic modes for now.
So far I have new custom ported heads, intake, cam, springs and rods internally. It has been lowered and Penske racing shocks replaced the FG2 system along with the Mallett Rear wheel hop stabalizer system which works well I might add. The exhaust is new from the Long Tube Mallett "D" headers and Random Technology high-flow cats to the Corsa stainless muffler system. Oh and the shifter was replaced with the Mallett Short shifter.
I previously owned a Audi RS6 which was an awesome car with power and an all-wheel drive system that was sticky and fun. Oh yeah and the new 19 inch Mallett Wheels. Windows tinted 15%!!!

How do you compare / like the CTS V Mallet versus RS6? Any regrets? Also, what made you choose Mallet versus other tuners such as lingenfelter? Is their package CA Smog Legal?

CTSVader
02-18-2005, 07:39 PM
I miss the quattro with 450 hp. If I could have tuned it without voiding my warranty I would have gotten another. Although the MTM tuned RS6 did not have a chance against Chuck Mallett's CTS-V. http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=15&article_id=8720&page_number=1 Top left first place Mallett; bottom right seventh place MTM RS6. That made my decision Mallett tuning comes with 2 year warranty and it does not void the warranty on the rest of the car.

My name is Paul. I live in Southern California. Last month(June 2005) I got my new CTS-V, Black on Black, sunroof, and the newly available XM Nav Traffic. I just love this car!! I am familiar with the best of GM's vehicle offerings with a 2005 Hummer H2 LUX, black on Black w/Nav. But driving the "V" is much more fun! Although I can't roll over other drivers like I can in the Hummer! I have updated the audio by adding a 2000 watt amp and subwoofer system. I intend to install 19" chrome rims w/EMT tires in the near future. Also a Corsa exhaust, headers and a super charger system.

I FINALLY bought my V. When I first read about this car in 2002 I immediately told my wife that this is my next car. I think most of you know what she said next. If you don't know, you can guess  . On July 28th I drove my Stealth Gray V off the show room floor with my 7 year old daughter in the passenger seat. I could not believe it. :D Now it is December and it has 1600 miles on it. Everyone in the family loves this car! Driving to Vegas to get away from it all ... PRICELESS!!

I just bought my CTS-V about a week ago. I have always had Mercedes and BMW's. This is by far the best car I have ever had! I have already up graded the exhaust to give me the full clean sound of the LS6. Looking to do a whole lot more! I'm in Dallas Texas so if anyone wants to get together hit me up. I also know alot of people here who can get alot of things done on the CTS-V without charging a arm and a leg... This does not include GAS!! You still may have to give a leg for that....

I just got my 2005 about a month ago. It is Stealth Gray with 18k on the odometer. It is Cady certified and it is a good thing it is, my shifter has gone from nice and tight to loose and popping out of first gear occasionally, and now the clunking symptom has also started. I am making my service appt tomorrow. I have added a custom set of staggered 20" wheels just friday. They are 20x8.5 front and 20x10 rear with Michelin pilot sports. I shoud have a pix up in the next day or so. I have already seen the FAQ about these cars so I will be printing off the Recal bullitins and such to take to the dealer. Anyone have a CAGS for sale ? Stealth site says they are out of stock?

Picked up an '05 off a lease about a month ago. It's the Platinum Silver w/Ebony interior with 27k on the odometer. I've added a K&N filter. I only want to add a cat-back exhaust and a nice set of chrome rims.

Only have had a few minors problems and the dealer has taken care of them all. I have to give kudos to Crest Cadillac.

This was suppose to be my long awaited model year upgrade, and I was suppose to be a loyal AMG guy. Still don't know what came over me or what happened,... but I'm glad it did. As it turned out, I was able to hang on the C32 AMG.

Started a thread over in on the AMG board, asking if any others were going thru deciding between the two. Lot's of objective advice. But when I announced I dropped the hammer on the V,... well a lot of that love changed to hate. LOL! Kinda expected I guess,... kinda funny too!

I own a very fast (and KQQL) 2005 CTS-V. I love the car.....especially since adding a K&N cold box air intake and a Magnaflow exhaust system. My buddy in the office next to mine is queer for the M3 (or anything BMW) and another long time buddy in TX is queer for his SLK55 AMG (or any AMG). They both are very knowledgeable gear heads and are also great guys but true Germophile car snobs in every sense of the word. It has been very painful for them to have to admit the V Series, and in particular the CTS-V, has changed the game in the luxury performance car world. Any set of metrics you care to use to measure car performance and you will find the V Series will come out on top. This is especially true when you add in the cost of ownership from initial purchase to repairs. When you look at what an M5 owner pays for the privilege to own his very special BMW and what he paid for it and then stack it up against any year CTS-V (let alone the mind boggling '09 V) and you have to ask yourself.....what the hell was he thinking? Can anyone really love 30K$ worth of interior leather trim that much? Same goes for the AMG crowd. Any JD Powers quality survey will show Cadillac is equal or superior in reliability and quality. For years M-B was suffering from very poor quality but nobody wants to talk about that. Why? Because they are snobs.....that's why. They are absolutely convinced they own superior automobiles and they look down w/ contempt on those who feel our American luxury performance cars are every bit their equal.

I dont think many people in my town know what a CTS-V is -- they just think its a regular CTS -- until they hear the exhaust, then they just wonder what they were hearing coming out of a Cadillac! :)

My husband bought mine for me in June of 2008. It's the only one in my town. I have FST CADY on my plates. Some teenage boys pulled up in a mustang GT laughing saying "fast cady, I bet". When the light turned green, I let him kick first then I spanked him infront of all of his friends!!! God is good!!!!

Just a reminder BMR has some very well engineered parts to make your CTS-V perform like it was meant to. Here is a link to our site. If you have any questions please give me a call.

Hi,

I own an 06 stealth gray with less than 19k at this time. Bought my V in January and have put about 3k on since purchase. Car is totally stock at this time. Traded in my 03 Mach 1 for the V. No regrets. I like the fact that I can haul four comfortably and have the HP to take care of business. I would like to do some mild mods to intake, exhaust and suspension when I can. Currently modifying is not at the top of my priority list. Any other Nor Cal V owners on this forum?

I was thinking seriously about upgrading to a used 2009 V2 but decided against it because my natually asperated 2005 V1 turned a 12.32 against a 2010 V2's 12.37 last Fall.

Well it did in my dreams.....but to be honest the V1's look better then the V2's

I bought a 2005 V black on black with 40K miles last April. Previous owner installed a Magnaflow X-Pipe... on track day everyone comes by to tell me I have the best sounding car on the course. At first they put me in a class with domestic muscle and 4 doors (M5's, C63's, etc), but the V slaughtered them and I was quickly bumped up to join the Vettes, M3's, and Carrera's. I'm the only one there with a factory in-dash DVD and at night I can take my grandparents for dinner in 4 door luxury... BEST CAR EVER MADE.

This is my second V. My first was an 06 Black Raven with the LS2 and my new one is an 09 White Diamond sedan with black interior and the LSA on the automatic. Wish I would have purchased the manual again but it is nice to just cruze.
