Thanks to forum member jasaero for this news story I missed. Looks like a camoflaged 2009 CTS-V has been spotted. Here's a bit from the article:
This is not the run-of-the-mill (future) CTS. This prototype has a huge bubble in the hood, performance wheels and wide tires, unique (larger) exhaust pipes and - the photographer swears - an obvious supercharger sound.
And a spy shot:

Thanks again jasaero!

I've heard super charger mentioned more than once. I'm hoping to get a 2nd production year one if that's true.

I'm not sure I like the body changes, if this is from the same spy pics I have seen already. I like the chisel cut lines of the V, I saw some soft curves, especially the wheel wells. I realize its a wider rear tire but the round flare
does'nt turn me on. Have you seen the spy pics I'm talkin about?

I also don't know if I like the grill. Sort of a mix CTS-CTS-V. I Love mine just the way it is. I don't even want to hear about a possible automatic in the CTS-V.

Autos are the way of the future for high performance cars especially those from Europe and Japan, so it would make sense for GM to start.

Thats what the STS-V and XLR-V are for. I hope they leave the CTS-V as is. ;)

I'm all for the auto being a option but I want GM to look into a F1 transmission like the Ferrari cars. Although, I'm sure they wouldn't get it right the first 5 model years...
