Hi there,

does someone of you know how to reset the TPM after putting on other tires?

Right now I just get the message "SVC TPM". I know my dealer here in Germany is able to do it but can I do it myself?

Thanks
Harry

There should be a resync proceedure in the manual. I will check to see if I can find it this evening. The only tool you will need is a strong magnet. If you do not have a strong magnet, use a magnet out of an old hard drive.

Hi torchredfrc,
in my german manual it only says the dealer have to reset it.
Yesterday I was at my dealership, they`ve reset it but now the display goes crazy. Tire icon on cluster is ON

LF 72 - RF 144
LR 218 - RR 288
Here in german the correct pressure should be 210 and that`s in all four tires now.

Do you show up for the XLR Rondezvous in ABQ ?

Harry,

I put my CTS back in the shop yesterday. I'm still experiencing personalization problems as well as a few other electrical bugs & some differential whine. I'm going to do my best ot make the Rondevous, Jun 10 - 17 right? I should have June 9-11 off from work, maybe I'll head to Abq on the 9th... it just all depends on what our testing schedule looks like that weekend.

Now I know why I can`t reset my TPM system.

The 06 XLR V wheels uses other TPM valves than the stock 04 XLR`s. It`s a different TPMS computer in my 04 model which is not compatible with the 06 V wheels.
If some of you plans to put the V wheels on an 04 model make sure you have the right TPM valves on it!

Good information Harry. How was the V meet in ABQ? GM seems to do silly things like this all the time. The Corvette TPM system changed in 2000 so the 97-99 and 00-04 TPMS are different as well. It doesn't suprise me they changed something on the Cadillac version of the system.

Hi Matt, XLR Rendezvous in ABQ was great, we had a lot of fun and all were very nice poeple. On our way back from ABQ to LA we made an avg speed of 90.8 mph but on the last 60 miles we got cought by an helicopter - policeman said we was always doing over 100 mph.

XLR V goes up to 158 mph when governor comes very soft in, we had it twiced that high.

Thought to see you in ABQ

Harry
