I've had my V for about 6 months and the poor gas mileage was killing me.

I've averaged 10 miles per gallon.

Today I decided to take it easy on the NJ Turpike on my way back from a meeting. The trip was 75 miles. I was going about 60-65 miles mph and averaged 21 MPG!!!

Twice what I average the prior 6 months.

I was actually thinking about selling the V with the gas prices (over $3 in NJ for premium)

I hit a little bit of traffic and was averaging just over 22MPG before that.

I'll keep the V, because I'm just having too much fun, but if gas goes

I'm getting poorer fuel economy than I'm used to...comparing it to the corvette. I think it is mostly due to the gearing. The V loves to rev and I find it awesome to drive. 100 gallons at an extra 10 cents is only 10 bucks. I say it is worth it. However, specs being what they may...my vet realized 32 mpg or over on long drives...I mean drives like Austin, TX to Atlanta, GA. Made that route 3 or more times and every time got around 32 mpg. Reprogrammed the computer and got 34 on the highway from Dallas to Austin. I don't think I'll beat the mpg numbers with the V...it is just too fun to drive and loves the rpm's! I say...pay the extra money and drive hard...else... Go get a 100 mpg lawn-mower.
