It should be a wicked quarter mile car as well a a handler. The wheel base and height should get some good weight transfer going for it. That's one issue the Vette has a tough time with in the quarter without expensive tire and/or suspension mods.

I'm suprised they got the weight down to 3800 lbs. I was expecting it to be higher.. I wonder if they did any weight reduction mods, ala Z06 -- Thinner glass, titanium exhaust, etc.
The car is full of creature comforts still, and to weigh in at 3800 lbs is amazing :)

The vehicle is 300lbs heavier than a regular CTS. The exhaust is Stainless steel. It would be wild if Cadillac made a reduced weight version. But with 400 HP and 395 lb-ft there is plenty of motivation.

It would be neat for Cadillac to do a "Z06" ala lightweight edition of the CTSV -- I would imagine that it all depends on the numbers of the regular CTSV, and how well it sells.
If it sells well, and GM thinks they can make it work financially, it is always possible.
If the CTSV bombs, I'm sure it will be a one or two year production run, and we'll only be able to talk about it in the past tense :)
Personally, I think its a great looking car, with great power, and its alot of bang for the buck on the luxury side of things.
Certainly, its good competition for the 5 series, etc.

The cars production looks fairly limited. Cadillac gave the top 100 dealers the first vehicles (we are one of those). So I have to order one this week. Not sure what color to do, black or silver. The only option is the sun-roof. With very little competition in the mid-lux market for this kind of car it should do well. The new M5 does not compete in this price range nor E55. S4 maybe, but does not have the performance numbers of CTS-V.
I am excited to see what the tuners LPE, Cartec, Callaway, do with this car. Getting 500+ HP out of an LS6 is no hard task. There is no room for a blower in that car. It makes 400 instead of 405 because of the lack of room. Heads and cam look like the way to go.
We have deposits on one so far, the car will arrive by the middle of December. That is if GM lauches the car right. Has not happened yet.

How much are you letting it go out the door for, or would you be willing to let it go for? Sticker? Below? above?

I put deposit down on one in July and on Halloween I got a call from Royal Cadillac in Jersey that they got availability to order 2. This is there allocation for the whole year. So hopefully I will be seeing the car in January. Also great to see a board for Caddy performance!!!
