Mr.T 02-28-2006, 05:54 PM I'm going to widen my stock wheels locally ($200 per wheel) but was unsure on what type of finish I should go with. The stock GM silver paint has chipped on several spots on every wheel. Members from another board found that the maximum you can widen them is .75". This would bring the wheel to 9.25" wide, thus being able to hold a 275 tire. Maybe it's a fad like in the 80's when everything went monochromatic....absolutely no offense intended here but they make the car look second hand or owned by a kid. Chrome or the factory wheels look best....especially on black...in a year or two, the black will just look boring.....the car's paint looks great though. I've owned 2 black cars in my life and I said I'd never own another one, however, who knows what will come over me when I get to the dealership. Speaking of dealerships, Mr T, I'll be visiting the DFW area and would be interested in your opinion of the one you bought you car from.
