does the canadian 2005 cts-v have the capabilities of hooking up or having xm radio on the center screen?

Your 2005 should have came with XM radio. I wasn't aware they were sold without it. If you got one without it somehow, I would bet that you can contact your dealer and get the parts to add it & have it function through the console screen.
