Hello, World... I just bought an 04. I'm having an awesomely fun time!

Nav System: Despite scratched disk, the dealer insisted the problem was the system itself, and replaced it on warrranty. i checked it when i got home, and it still freezes after i press "Accept". I now assume it is the disk. Another irritant is the black plastic coating on the nav/audio buttons was wearing off (I'm lucky since they changed that out as part of the new nav).

Questions: A dealer quoted me $550 for a new disk which seems exorbitant. Who manufactures the nav system? Can i go direct for a new disk, or is there an aftermarket? What's the latest version?

I would love to have the answer to this question as well. I'm also wondering if the 2006 DVD will work in my 2004 CTS V.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciate.

A few weeks ago a dealer quoted me a price of $950 for a replacement DVD. The only reason I asked was because in a few places I get a message that says something like "guidance will not be provided in this area, look at the distance and turn indicators on the screen". I thought they were $400-$500, but $950.

Given the price of the replacement disks, I may try to make a backup of mine instead of using the original. I will let you know if it works 4bbrlcarb.

Some people have done this and it works for them.
