Has anyone run an 04 or 05 GTO ??

If so, how do they compare ??

'04 is not even close...

Which way ?? Both 04s had the same engine, the 05 GTO has the LS2, while the CTS still has the same as 04. This year (06) they will both have the LS2.

cts-v blows it away...

Motor Trend did a comparison earlier this year on those three cars and yes, CTS-v blew them all away. :cool:

I have a '04 GTO and will be test driving a CTS-V soon...

The consensus on here is that the CTS-V would "kill" the GTO. A few on the GTOforum.com say they have run CTSs and beaten them or run essentially heads up.

My guess is that it would be a "drivers" race. From what I can ascertain, the CTS is more prone to wheel hop than the GTO which would hurt pretty badly.

(I'm still undecided but will probably acquire one or the other before the end of the year)

I'd love to run a CTS-V just for fun. Sure I know I'd get beat since I only have an 04 but I wouldn't feel any shame losing to a CTS-V. ;)

As for wheel-hop I can say I have not experienced it and I have done many hard launches. Not at the track though.

Someone needs to remind me, what is the weight on the V and what is it's rear axle ratio? I'm thinking I remember seeing a 3.73 or something. The GTO has a 3.46 by comparison at approx. 3725 pounds.

I would think an 05/06 vs. the V would pretty much come down to a driver's race. We have heard of a couple V kills over at my home website NewAgeGTO.com. C'mon over and check it out if you'd all like. Nice talking with some fellow GM owners. :)
