Hello All!!!!

I just traded in my Chrysler 300 Touring for a 2004 CTS-V with 22k miles. I've had it for 24 hours and I love it!!

I'm selling my Yamaha R1 and needed to replace my "fast toy". I thought about buying a Vett, but I have a family and that just wasn't practical.

The CTS-V is the best of both worlds. A Vett engine in a sedan.

I also considered an M3 or the 300C SRT

The M3 didn't have enough power and the 300 SRT didn’t have a stick!

I guess you all know this.

Any advice for me?

I also have a few questions.

How can I get the DVD player to work while driving? Not for me, but my passengers.

How can I get more power without losing the manufactures warrantee?

Are there any good web sites for after market parts, like wheels, ground effects, rear wing ect?

I also want to replace the top of the gear shifter. In other cars I just screwed off the top of the shifter and replaced it, but the shifter does not appear to twist of. How do I get it off?

From what I understand the shifter is just a friction fit. You should consider an aftermarket shifter if you would like to go with a different knob.

Here is how to play a DVD while driving:
1. Insert DVD into DVD player.
2. Start the movie, do NOT leave the the disc at the DVD menu or you will not be able to start the movie after you release the parking brake.
3. With the movie playing, press the second from the bottom button on the right hand side of the DVD screen and the forward Seek Button. The screen should then flicker. If you get taken to a screen that says "cold reboot", press the same button combination AGAIN and it should go back to the DVD...
4. Release the parking brake, the DVD should continue playing.

You will not be able to control the DVD after you start it playing. If you try to, the screen will go to the same screen you get when you try to start a movie without performing the above steps.

Aside from the vendors there, I would also recommend Lund Cadillac in Phoenix. You might consider giving them a call to see what the limits for mods withing the warantee actually are. I know if you have their service department install your mods, they will continue to service the vehicle under the manufacturers warantee (although that obviously won't work for you considering you're in New Jersey). Have to sell the R1 eh? I am keeping mine, and my GSXR1000. The way I got away with this is I let my stepson take my 97 Z28 to the homecoming dance, and it never came back. That was 4 years ago and all my whining finally paid off. I love the CTS-V. Check out www.moreperformanceinc.com , they have alot of good stuff for your new V.
