This is the new transmission that will be seen in all high torque applications. The 2006 Corvette has paddle shifters that hook up to this transmission.

GM's 6L80 transmission was designed to handle the extra torque generated by the company's latest generation of high-performance engines, including the new 6.2-liter V8 in the '07 Yukon Denali and Cadillac Escalade, which produces 380 horsepower and 415 pound-feet, and the supercharged 4.4-liter V8 in the V-Series Cadillacs, which delivers 440 hp and 430 lb-ft.

Any chance this transmission will find it's way into the '07 CTS-V?

I havn't heard any news about this being in the CTS-V but the article does say it has applications for the STS-V & XLR-V. I suspect that GM will eventually squeeze it in the CTS-V. Can any dealers on the forum offer any further insight?
