Anything in particular you'd like to see covered here? Any upgrades, rants, raves, etc?

The colors, graphics, and layout look really good (except the blue buttons don't go so well with the green color scheme)...it's hard to believe you've been up for such a short time. Do you administer other Boards? I'm gonna guess yes. Obviously there will be more Forums as the Board grows but in the meantime I don't see anything I would change until you get more members/threads/posts.

I've got a section suggestion!

A area for "performance mods ONLY"
A place for discussion and another to record list of mods and TRACK SLIP INFO, not the chessy gtech windsheild thingy.

This should be a section for gear heads and not pimp daddys calling wheels and grills mods.

Just my .02 :)

I think there would need to be seperate Forums for Northstar Performance and Non-Northstar Performance.

Hey ekool

My first impression is very favorable. On CadillacForums we're still using vB Beta 4, and in the few minutes I've been here I can already see that Beta 7 rocks - I can't wait for the RC and gold versions! The colors, graphics, and layout look really good (except the blue buttons don't go so well with the green color scheme)...it's hard to believe you've been up for such a short time. Do you administer other Boards? I'm gonna guess yes. Obviously there will be more Forums as the Board grows but in the meantime I don't see anything I would change until you get more members/threads/posts and see what this place can become.
Thx for the kind words! Yah, I admin these forums and a couple of others. I'm working on the buttons as we speak, but I'm not sure what color would look better. I was thinking grey, but dont know if another color might stand out better? Even tan perhaps? any ideas? B7 is really nice, I was amazed at the features and how far they've come since 2.X -- I dont think I could build a "new" site in 2.X anymore, not after seeing the new stuff :)

How about a forum for track results, and we can have a sticky thread with nothing but the fastest ET's -- I need someone to "run" the list tho. Check for updates in the thread, and keep the order the same. Are you wanting to volunteer? :)

I like the Track Results forum idea.

If there is to be much traffic here, there has to be places for cars more common than XLR and CTSV. There could be forums by engine type (500/472/425/368, 4100 (hah), 4.5 & 4.9 or something like that) or by car type (Fleetwood, DeVille, Eldo, etc.).

I dont want to create competition for the regular Caddy forums, I dont want this site to be the "caddy place" I would rather have it specialize in performance... Do you think this is feasable?

Probably based on engine would be better, I would think.

I'm open to more suggestions.

BTW, I just changed the button, these look better, but I think they can be improved even more. Anybody have any color suggestions?

MMMMM, sure, (i guess) my only problem with committing to something is time because of what I do for a living (Real Estate) but somedays are busier than others.

I'd be glad to help out but i'm not very computer tech savey i'll do the best I can.

If it's a track/performance area only i'd be glad to help.

Thanks.

Okay, I'm going to start a section for track times. What we'll do is make a single thread thats sticky so its always on top. People will post their track results in this thread, with timeslip, video, etc. You can then update the first post by "editing" it - and you always keep this first post updated with the times, for example:

1. Joe Blow - 14.2@103 - 19XX STS - Radial Tires - NOS
2. Mike Anon - 14.3@101 - 19XX STS - Radial Tires - N/A

Etc. And we'll keep track of the fastest Cadillacs in the world in that thread.

Sound like a plan?

Do you think this is feasable?Honestly..no. I don't believe there will be enough interest in performance alone. To attract and maintain a Community there needs to be something more....

Probably based on engine would be better, I would think.I agree!

BTW, I just changed the button, these look better, but I think they can be improved even more. Anybody have any color suggestions?Um, IMHO this yellow color is worse than the blue (sorry). Maybe something more like a peach color? Even the yellowish tan like the background for the WYSIWYG Reply toolbar.

Sure!, with each post of track times they need to state if it's bone-stock, or ANYTHING that's been done to it.

We need to specify that this is actual "track" experience and not the gtech thingy.

What about a section for mods, performance, etc and discussion??

Yah, I was planning on having alot of subsections but wanted to get more discussion going first. I think its bad at this point to divide everything up with so few posts. Once things start to take off and we get more discussion, we can shuffle things around into seperate sections.

Also, I'm working on better icons right now with diff colors, just looking at what works and what doesnt.

Okay, next suggestion? :)How about an "Introductions" Forum between the "General Discussion" and "Off Topic"? Encouraging new members to make an introductory post is a good way to break the ice and get them posting, plus it gives everyone a chance to get to know who's here.

Also, I believe there is a way to turn on the "Smilie" window to the left of the reply box as it was in vB 2.X.X and the earlier 3.0.0 Betas - I like that better :) than the dropdown Smilies (which stay there as well when you activate the window). They turned it on at the vB.com Board due to popular demand...

Hey, now that I think of it, more Smilies would be very nice. :D

Any plans of having those avitar-picture-things here? They're cool.

And I see you live in Alamagordo, ekool. I'm up in Albuquerque.

Avatars should be enabled -- you should be able to upload an 80x80 avatar.

Cool. It said it could be 100x100, so that's what mine is.

Would love to see a section about the 4.9L and the 4.5L I have been doing research everyday about the 4.9L. Let me know what i can do to make this forum fly. I agree with making this strickly a modding forum, not to take away traffic from caddyforums.
