: 1st to 2nd gear, smooth shifting??? upvega 03-31-2005, 06:56 PM Hi Guys, I’m having a tough time shifting smoothly from 1st to 2nd gear. I shift at between 2500 and 3000 RPM. I may be letting the clutch out a bit to fast but I was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue?? T.M. flyboy 04-01-2005, 05:44 AM My Guess is the "skip shift" feature is hindering you. Take a look at the owners manual and it will explain what that is, and how it works. I've already had mine eliminated and it makes a world of difference. ctsvett 04-02-2005, 12:23 AM CAGS is one thing. I have the same problem you are reporting if indeed you already got rid of CAGS. I took it to the dealer a few times and they have not been able to figure it out. They say it is normal. I say BS. Few things to look at: 1. Is your clutch resevior full of fluid 2. Does it happen when you pump your clutch? My believe is something is wrong with the clutch loosing pressure (or fluid) or air getting into the system. This is causing the hydraulic clutch to not disenguage fully and that is causing the feeling that we are having. Do you have problems getting into gear at traffic lights when you take your foot off the clutch? My car is going into the dealer in a few weeks again for this issue a few other small ones? I just had installed the BMR Torsion Bar kit. Nervous about the howl. I did install the CASG Elim. about 2 weeks ago...It also helped me alot with being smoother. T.M. flyboy 04-03-2005, 09:41 AM Jay, I had a "howling" from my rear-end also.....gosh that sounds freaky--------anyway, my right rear wheel bearing was bad. They changed it and it is gone now. Best way to test for that is find a quiet road.....go 30-40 MPH and let the car coast in neutral, turn sharply and quickly left then right then back and forth. If there is a bad bearing, you'll hear more noise on the side which is bad. Good Luck | ||
