Hey Guys,

I'm so excited....Katech has had my car for much of the winter months here in Michigan, so I wasn't going to drive it anyway. All I can say is "WOW." I drove it home today. The car is like "day vs night" The wheel hop is 99% gone. They've installed a lighter flywheel and clutch assembly, their headers, cats are gone, Billy Boat exhaust (which sounds fantastic), new camshaft (look in the April 2005 edition of Hot Rod and there is an article about what they are doing)...by the way the camshaft mentioned in that article, is the one in my "V" now. Lowered the front by a couple of inches, got rid of that silly "skip-shift" feature, short-throw shift that now I wouldn't live without.

While rolling along in first gear at 10 MPH, and "nail" it.....the tires will break loose. With that new cam, the engine pulls hard all the way to the limiter.

Gotta go....need to drive it some more.

Lets hear what that car sounds like without cats... what did they install to eliminate the wheelhop?

There is a slight "drone" in the 1800 - 2100 RPM range. Conversation is still easy, but everyone knows this is not a "stock" CTS-V. There is a slight lope during idle at the red light, which I really enjoy. Above 2100 - 2200 RPM the drone is gone and it is quiet inside the car. I will ask next week what EXACTLY was done in the back to help eliminate the hop. I'll keep you all informed. Drive safe, and Happy Easter to all who celebrate it.

hey "flyboy" I was just wondering what brand name of shifter did you use? I would like to get the stock shifter out of mine. That sounds  all the stuff that they did to you car. I am going to have to try to get my hand on tha article that you were reffering to.

LS6...It is the Katech shifter. I didn't install it, they did. It is fairly involved since the transmission has to be dropped down to install it. (I would personally have an "expert" do this for me.)

Okay Guys,

Katech just lowered the price of the billet shifter to $349.95 I believe. They have a really cool "V" that I personally have driven that might be a fun car for someone who is looking for a really fast CTS-V. Last year at Milan it ran 12.7 @ 117. (I saw it myself). Click on the web site below for more info on it.
